Privacy Act Module

Today I completed my Privacy Act Module. This was a great way to build my understanding around the Privacy Act in schools. By completing all 12 units in the "Privacy ABC for Schools", I was able to achieve my certificate. 

The course focused on:

• when and how schools can collect personal information
• how schools need to protect and handle the personal information they have collected
• schools' obligations when people ask to see their own or their children's personal information, and to change any incorrect information
• how staff can disclose personal information to help someone in trouble
• what staff should consider before sharing or publishing students' personal information 
• responsible approaches for using third-party software or apps that collect students' personal information.
