Manaiakalani - Connected :
Connections are an important aspect to the Manaiakalani programme. There is a huge diversity in schools but all of their connections are unique and strong.
There is a huge amount of clusters that are all in the same area. Manaiakalani has formed a new cluster that is a range of schools from other parts of the country. These schools are not in the same area but still wanted to join the programme.
Manaiakalani stay connected to the world by using RSS. The app that they use to share their students learning is Twitter. All of the students blog posts go directly to the Twitter feed. The top posts are the newest ones added to the learners blogs.
In order to have a successful site there are two aspects that need to be taken into consideration. The visual appearance and user experience. The visual appearance includes looking at the theme, colour palette, visuals, etc. While the user experience ensures that it is easily accessible by anyone on the site, it is easy to follow and navigate.
As a group we were able to give each other feedback on our websites. This meant we could get some ideas from each and see what our suggestions are for our class site.
After this we were given the task to change and adjust our class sites. As I am in a MLI and team teach, I chose to change and adjust my Multimodal Cultural Celebrations site. This is to hopefully have it ready for Matariki in week 8.
I feel as if this website will be able to be used for many years to come. There is so much on the website that it can be a long task over a few weeks to complete. I am going to try and incorporate this into my teaching in week 8.

Hey Daf,
ReplyDeleteSo cool to see how you took the feedback from the team and edited your site.
Awesome to see how your site is coming along - you mentioned user and visual experience in your reflection. It's great to see how you brought that to life for your learners.
Excited to hear how it goes when you bring it into your practice for Matariki ⭐️
